HABLO ESPANOL
- Swedish/Relaxing Perfect for escaping from stress and for general relaxation. Helps with muscle tension without getting into the medical/specific/physical therapy type of techniques This is the most common form of massage. All I can tell you what I have been told by clients-- I work on areas that typically that do not get worked on like the chest/pec muscles, stomach/abs, rear/glutes. I will definitely not work in any area that you do not feel comfortable in being touched. My pressure is on point meaning it's not too strong or too light. Right in the middle - enough where you feel I am working on the muscle versus the skin.
- Lomi Lomi Hawaiian style of relaxing massage using forearms and long strokes. Unlike your typical swedish/relaxing massage in which the technique stays within one area using the fingers & hands, this is a continuous style of massage with the forearms using it all over e.g. working the arm/leg on both sides at the same time, working your back and your front at the same time, flowing from your neck to your shoulders to your back to your hips to your legs- there are many variations Every time I combine this with Swedish, I get told it's the best massage they have ever gotten - nobody ever knows why I stood out or what I did different. The secret is Lomi Lomi
- Reki Energy type of technique to help with the healing process. This works with unseen forces such as aura and charkas. Placing the hands without movement and placing the hands over the body without making any physical contact. Relaxing and puts you in a trance/meditation type of state. When I took this training, my training partner told me my treatment/hands were extremely hot and warm. That is very common to feel. And my partner said her hand pain went away after the treatment.
- Hot Stone These stones come from the earth- volcanos. Heated stones are used for massage. And they can be placed and left in certain spots while heating that area. The heat brings blood flow to the area, loosens and relieves tight muscles. I massage with the stones and place & leave the stones in certain areas like along the back/spine and other areas that need the relief. I use 10-15 stones. I go above and beyond with hot stones as using 4-6 stones is common practice and leaving the stone on the body is not common.
- Craniosacral Therapy This technique moves the CFS fluid that's around the spine and skull. This helps with anything related the spine like pinched nerve, herniated/bulging disc; anything related to the neck like whiplash, anything related to the skull like headaches & eyestrain. This can reach areas of the cranium or parts of the brain where trauma is stored. When I took this training, my training partner had a emotional release. A grief that is 30 years old came back all of the sudden. She had dealt with this in the past and this was no longer a issue or on her mind. Everyone releases in different ways. I personally go into a mediation state.

- Ear Reflexology: There are points on the ear that when pressed, affects certain spots on the rest of the body. Have you ever heard of foot reflexology? This is the same concept except it's the ears that get touched

***Medical massage is also known as: therapeutic, specific, neuromuscular, manual therapy,& physical therapy***
- Myofascial Release: This technique treats the fascial system in which this structure holds everything together- all muscles, nerves, bones, blood, and organs - together. This structure often gets ignored. This treatment feels like a stretch. Unlike your traditional stretch moving the joints/limbs, this stretches the fascia by dragging it to get the area to release. Treatment includes traction in which a joint is pulled to get it unlocked and be put in a healthy position. It's very common for clients to get almost permanent benefits. The difference is night and day. It is well known to get positive results with this treatment when all other therapies are temporary or no results at all. This is because this is one of the few therapies that treats this structure

This technique employs the connection between the part of the brain that controls specific muscles and those muscles - motor neuron and muscle fibers. The result is teaching the body to move in ways it's not used to. This uses a shaking movement which does a connection to your brain, and this will access areas that would be difficult or impossible to access with other therapies due to location and depth. This also uses isometric & eccentric movements-- I would be giving you resistance you as you move. In turn, you will learn very specific movements that you can add to your exercise routine. This works with any joint on the body - including the spine, ribcage, and jaw. During training, this increased my movement & strength in my right shoulder, and my shoulder has not gone back how it was before I got treated. When I treated the jaw, neck tension was released.

- Muscle Energy Technique This technique combines stretching and muscular contractions that increases movement and helps in your posture. This includes assisted and unassisted stretching. You will become aware of the areas of your body that are misaligned or out of alignment. With that knowledge, you will know which areas need to be stretched and which areas needs to be strengthened. Have you heard of StrechLab or Stretch Zone? This technique is very similar to the one they use. This is also very similar to PNF stretching. The difference is that this is gentle pain free.

- Deep Tissue Technique using a firm or strong pressure to get access to the deeper muscles. Does not have to be painful. Always working within your tolerance. Usually deep tissue regulars ask the therapist to go in deeper. Your experience with me would be opposite. I usually get requested to give less pressure. I am told I get into areas where no other therapist has gotten into.
- Trigger Point Therapy A trigger point aka a knot is an area that when pressed, produces tension/pressure/pain in another part of the body. Or just on that area itself. This therapy presses on this point until the tension decreases. Often, clients confuse tender spots and tight muscles with a trigger point. Trigger points feel like a little ball. Usually you can surround it with one finger pressing on it.
- Position Release Technique that passively contracts (meaning you are relaxed, and I move you) a muscle, while I'm pressing on a tender point, and that decreases the pain in that muscle. This treats both trigger points and non trigger points or areas that are just tender. This is passive. Whereas trigger point therapy is meant to have a strong pressure and therefore it can be uncomfortable, this technique is meant to have pressure that is pain free.
